During spring festival, worship ancestor and visit the ancestral temple used to be most important part of the festival activities.
There are several Confucius temple still well preserved in China, one is located in Shandong, and anther is in Deyang county Sichuan province. Most Confucius temple is destroyed in culture revolution, so the remains is valued and treasured. Confucius temple is sample of Chinese culture and tradition, and we decide to visit Deyang Confucius temple.
At gate to temple, stands statue of Confucius, with his deep eye looks as far away in future. Confucius in China has never been treated as God but just as a good teacher and educator. There is Chinese calligraphy on the gate, and it write like this: your morality is as high as sky. Before audience hall, there are some Chinese memorial gates. In Confucius temple this gate is called wenlin gate, which means the gate to star of wisdom. The audience hall is grand with statue of Confucius to be worshiped. Sometime ritual and performance is hold before the audience hall.
When finished visiting the Confucius temple, we are feel pride to be Chinese and feel pride in Chinese long history and tradition.
